Guidelines for Supervised Visitation

Visitation Procedures

  • The monitor will be present at all times during the visit and is monitoring from the moment of arrival.
  • All contact between the child/children and the non-custodial parent takes place within the monitor's hearing and sight.
  • Custodial parent shall bring the child/children to the visit five minutes before the scheduled visit. The non-custodial parent shall arrive promptly at the scheduled time.
  • Custodial parent shall arrive promptly at the end of each scheduled visit to pick up the child/children. The non-custodial parent shall wait with the monitor during pickup and departure.
  • Custodial and non-custodial parent will adhere to the monitor's guidance at exchange and during the scheduled visitation. Non-compliance with guidelines or challenging the authority of the monitor may lead to termination of services at the discretion of the monitor.
  • Cancellation or rescheduling of visitation requires 24 hours advance notification and both parents must confirm mutually agreed upon reschedules and cancellations. If the visitation is cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, the monitor will be paid as if the scheduled visitation had occurred.
  • Cancellations for health reasons must be confirmed with a doctor's note.
  • If custodial parent or designee fails to arrive with the child/children without sufficient prior notice of cancellation to the monitor (see above), custodial parent or designee shall pay the monitor as if the scheduled visitation had occurred.
  • Failure of non-custodial parent to arrive within 10 minutes of designated arrival time without notification by phone will result in cancellation of the visit and the monitor shall be paid as if the scheduled visitation had occurred.
  • The scheduled visitation will be canceled if a parent is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or non-prescription drugs.
  • Parents will adhere to the monitor's guidance at exchange point and during the scheduled visitation.
  • Family members or friends authorized by the court to participate in the scheduled visitation must comply with the guidelines.
